Youth Dance Ensemble Choreographer Agreement

This agreement is made between Aerial Dance Chicago (ADC) and CHOREOGRAPHER, hereinafter referred to as ARTIST.


Mission and Programmatic Focus

ADC is focused on the creative development of the art of contemporary dance. The company does not create or perform circus art, aerial stunt work or burlesque. ARTIST agrees to align with the mission of the company.


Safety

ADC regards safety as the number one priority. ARTIST agrees to read, learn and work according to the ADC Safety Policy.


Piece Length

Choreography for most YDE programs should be in the range of 4-6 minutes.

What is provided by ADC

ADC provides studio rehearsal space rigged for aerial dance, youth dancers highly trained in aerial dance forms, costume options, stage lighting and presentation of the work in a live or virtual performance.

                                 

Honorarium

ARTIST will receive teaching pay rate for work inside the studio with the YDE dancers plus a $60 creative fee for the completion/performance of the work. ARTIST will also receive $50 for every future instance the work is performed.

Confidentiality

ARTIST agrees to abide by the rules set forth in the ADC Confidentiality Agreement.

 

Credit to Aerial Dance Chicago

If sharing or remounting work or any portion of the work originally created through ADC, ARTIST agrees to prominently credit Aerial Dance Chicago. This includes but is not limited to remounting on another company, remounting for an event or festival, using video of the work for a grant or festival application, sharing as a video presentation, sharing on social media, or any other type of showing of the work.

ARTIST agrees to clearly credit and tag ADC in the text, printed program, other printed material or on video credits. If no written material is printed, ARTIST agrees to provide credit verbally as part of the presentation.

ARTIST agrees to provide credit ADC as follows:  

“This work was originally created through the support of Aerial Dance Chicago.” 

Copyright

Creative material generated during ADC activities, including but not limited to rigging design, apparatus design, movement, training, curriculum, choreography, costumes, lighting, photos/videos (including media taken with ARTIST device), etcetera, are copyrighted property of Aerial Dance Chicago. ARTIST agrees to uphold ADC’s Creative Copyright and Media Agreement.

Social Media

When posting/sharing media from ADC activities, ARTIST agrees to directly and prominently tag @aerialdancechicago on the first line of text. In the case tag is not possible, artist agrees to credit “Aerial Dance Chicago” full company name on the first line of text.
