Aerial Dance Chicago seeks highly trained dancers for 27th Season

No prior aerial experience is needed

Free training, paid rehearsals and paid performances

Audition: August 10, 2026 Noon-4:00pm {Check-in 11:45AM}

Callbacks: August 11, 2026 Noon-4:00pm

Attendance at both the audition and callbacks are required for consideration

AUDITION INFORMATION

  • Bring your resume and headshot to the audition

  • Arrive at 11:45AM for check-in on August 10th

  • Audition will begin at noon sharp and will consist of ballet warm up, ground-based repertoire and beginner-friendly aerial training

  • Cuts will be made throughout the audition

  • Dancers must be available for BOTH the audition and callbacks (August 11th) to be considered

  • There is no fee to audition

  • We kindly request that you audition only if serious about accepting an opportunity with the company

DANCER POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced/Professional level training in ballet and contemporary dance and/or other dance forms

  • Strong work ethic for physically and mentally demanding aerial dance training

  • Strong dance partnering and improvisation skills

  • Cooperative attitude for working collaboratively with other company artists and guest artists

  • Full availability for all weekly training, rehearsals and performances

  • No previous aerial experience is needed, free aerial dance training will be provided

SEASON DATES 

  • Season Dates: August 19, 2026 - June 23, 2027

  • Rehearsals Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:00am-2:00pm

  • Nov 13-15, 2026: Season 27 Studio Presentation at Aerial Dance Chicago

  • February 22-28, 2027: Season 27 Feature Presentation at Ruth Page Center for the Arts

  • May 28-29, 2027 tentative

  • More performance dates to be announced

DANCER PAY AND BENEFITS

  • Paid rehearsals $17.50 per hour

  • Paid performances $120 per performance for new dancers

  • Dancers are paid W2 earning employees of the organization (not independent contractors)
