Libby Westra is from Appleton, WI where she danced at Fox Cities Dance Academy and Makaroff School of Ballet. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Dance and pre-Physical Therapy. While there, she studied under and performed choreography by Charlotte Adams, Esther Baker-Tarpaga, Eloy Barragan, George de la Pena, Autumn Eckman, Ramon Flowers, and Kristin Marrs in multiple shows and with the touring university dance group Dancers in Company. She also spent a year in San Francisco dancing with the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program with teachers like Christian Burns, LeeWei Chao, Arturo Fernandez, Maurya Kerr, and Alonzo King. Afterwards, she moved to Chicago and began dancing as an apprentice with Inaside Chicago Dance. She spent the summer of 2017 dancing in and choreographing for Freespace, as well as discovering her love for aerial dance. Through Aerial Dance Chicago, she has loved exploring new ways to move and push the limits of dance.
