Ellen is originally from Lebanon, OH and moved to Chicago in the summer of 2014 immediately after earning her B.A. in Sociology with honors from Taylor University. Having grown up doing competitive gymnastics since the age of three and taking part in show choir performances in high school, she branched out and began studying ballet under Natalie Rast at Rast Ballet & Dance Studio in 2014. She continued her studies in ballet, modern, contemporary, and musical theater at the Lou Conte Dance Studio, where she was part of the work study program from January 2017-August 2018. Since moving to Chicago, she has performed with University Ballet of Chicago, Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble, and Ardent Dance Company, and has created original work surrounding themes of social justice. She joined Aerial Dance Chicago as an apprentice in October 2018 and has thoroughly enjoyed the new challenge of combining contemporary dance with elements of flight. It has helped her realize her life-long dream of flying and she is excited to continue growing technically and artistically with the talented artists and directors of ADC!
