Chloe co-founded Aerial Dance Chicago in 1999 with Production Director Kip Conwell, and served the company as Artistic Director for its first fourteen years. In addition to her artistic leadership, Chloe acted as Managing Director, steadily building the infrastructure of the company. She is now focused on overall direction, and remains committed to development of the artistic vision and creative endeavors of the organization.
Chloe holds a bachelors degree in dance and physical education from Northern Illinois University where she pursued independent research examining how movement and physical fitness affect learning and mental acuity. She went on to teach acrobatic dance, aerial dance and ballet technique for dance majors during her graduate studies in choreography, anatomy and kinesiology at Arizona State University. Chloe has performed as a trampoline dancer for Cirque du Soleil choreographer Debra Brown and as an acrobatic dancer for The Lyric Opera of Chicago. She was the scholarship recipient to the International Aerial Dance Festival in Colorado, and returned to the festival with grant funding from the City of Chicago. Chloe has received multiple grants to support the creation of new aerial dance choreography. Both her ground-based and her aerial dance works have appeared locally and nationally.
